IIT Bhilai has organized a six-days’ mini MTTS Programme: Initiation to Mathematics from March 25th-30th, 2019, coordinated by Mrs. Rajni Moona, Outreach Coordinator, IIT Bhilai.
The Inaugural-cum-Introductory session, held on March 25th, 2019 was graced by Prof. Rajat Moona, Director, IIT Bhilai; Prof. P. D. Shrivastava, Visiting Professor, Dept. of Mathematics and the resource persons - Dr. H. Ananthnarayan (Dept of Maths, IIT Bombay), Dr. Vikas Bist (Dept. of Maths, Panjab University), and Dr. S Kumaresan (President, MTTS Trust, former faculty of University of Hyderabad). Prof. Diwan and Prof. Vikas Jain from GEC, Raipur were also present in the event.
Mrs. Rajni Moona welcomed the guests and participants to the first ever mini MTTS Programme being organized in Chhattisgarh, shared the journey of organizing this programme and introduced the resource persons to everyone.
Dr. Ananthnarayan shared a brief outline of the programme and emphasized that it would be an interactive learning session for the students.
Dr. Kumaresan encouraged the students to develop inquisitiveness so that they can become good problem solvers in the future.
Prof. Rajat Moona expressed his pleasure at the collaboration of IIT Bhilai with MTTS that resulted in this learning platform for the students. He motivated the students to proceed in a planned manner for solving their problems and said that this program will open new avenues for research in mathematics.
Prof. P. D. Shrivastava also shared his views on this programme and motivated the participants to gain maximum benefit out of this workshop.
Students from Durg, Raipur, Bilaspur, Korba, Rajim, Jagdalpur and Dhanbad have participated in the workshop to learn the entirety of Foundation of Mathematics, Real Analysis and Linear Algebra.
