Faculty Development Programme on “Computational Fluid Dynamics”

A three-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on ‘Computational Fluid Dynamics’ was organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Bhilai from February 27-29, 2020. The event was coordinated by Dr. Balkrishna Mehta, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Bhilai. The event was sponsored by CSVTU under TEQIP-III. Prof. Atul Sharma, Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Bombay is the Guest of Honor for the event. In the inaugural session, Dr. Soumya Gangopadhyay, Associate Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Bhilai, felicitated the Guest of Honor and welcomed the gathering. He emphasized the significance of organizing FDPs for improving the quality of technical education. The expert speakers for this event were Prof. Atul Sharma, IIT Bombay, Prof. Tushar Gohil, VNIT Nagpur, and Mr. Vidit Sharma, CFD Engineer, Virtual Simutech Pvt. Ltd. All the expert speakers are well known in the field of CFD. During the event, classroom lecture sessions were further complemented by hands-on practical sessions in the labs.

A large number of faculty members from various Engineering Colleges (GEC Raipur, CEC Bilaspur, SRITech Raipur, KITE Raipur, KEC Bhilai, RCET Bhilai, SSGI Bhilai, BIT Raipur, RIT Raipur, and others) participated in the event.
