IIT Bhilai was established in 2016 with three UG specializations - BTech in Mechanical Engineering, BTech in Electrical Engineering and BTech in Computer Science and Engineering.
The Electrical Engineering Department is a crucial part of engineering teaching and research at IIT Bhilai. It plays a vital role in providing education, conducting research, and producing skilled professionals in the field of electrical engineering.
The primary objective of the Electrical Engineering Department is to equip students with a strong foundation in the fundamental principles of electrical engineering and prepare them for various career paths in industries such as power systems, electronics, control systems, and renewable energy. The department offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs, allowing students to delve deeper into specialized areas of electrical engineering based on their interests and career goals.
The department consists of highly qualified faculty members who possess expertise in various sub-disciplines of electrical engineering like renewable energy, power electronics, control, instrumentation, sensors, and various other domains. These faculty members not only impart theoretical knowledge but also guide students through hands-on practical experiences in well-equipped laboratories. The department also encourages research and innovation, promoting collaborations with industries and other research institutions to solve real-world problems and contribute to technological advancements.
The EE lab is well equipped with various state-of-the-art equipment to allow both the UG and PG students to do their academic projects independently in an efficient manner. Specially dedicated setups are available pertaining to the following verticals: (i) Devices and Circuits, (ii) Sensors and Instrumentation, (iii) Electrical Machines Lab, (iv) Advanced Control and Power Systems Lab, (v) Power Electronics Lab.
