IIT Bhilai organized One-day National Workshop on “Awareness on Intellectual Property Rights” in association with MeitY

One-day National Workshop on “Awareness on Intellectual Property Rights” was organised in association with Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) on 24th August, 2019 at IIT Bhilai. The main objective of the workshop was to sensitize students and faculty members on Intellectual Property Rights. More than 220 participants attended the workshop which included around 200 students and 20 faculty members.

The workshop comprised of three talks by eminent speakers and panel discussion/interaction session. Dr. Raj Kumar Hirwani, Director, CSIR-URDIP (Retd.) was the Chief Guest of the event. Dr. Hirwani emphasized on Patinformatics for Research and Business Planning and Dr. A. K. Garg, Director, Innovation and IPR Division, MeitY mentioned about the MeitY IPR initiatives. While Mr. R. Saha, Senior Advisor, Confederation of Indian Industry gave a talk on ICT-related Patent Filing Trends Enforcement of IP Rights. Prof. Rajat Moona, Director, IIT Bhilai also reiterated about the importance of Patents for Academicians.
